This Month's Winning Tetley Moment(s):
Terri, North Carolina
Until last summer, I had never made a decent pitcher of tea. In fact, it usually tasted more like the box the tea came in! (And believe me, that is a disgrace for a southern born woman!) Then my family and I attended a "Kinston Indians" baseball game and they gave samples of Tetley Tea. I brought it home, followed the directions, and we all enjoyed the best "sweet tea" I had ever tasted! I was so proud! Now I serve delicious tea with many of our meals and I can confidently bring my tea to our family and church gatherings. Tetley definitely makes it better for me!
Diana, California
I just came back from my good friend Miriam's home. I always arrive, on the dot, at 3 p.m. for tea. We've been taking tea for years. Mimi is now 92, and is as feisty as ever. She likes to say that Tetley tea keeps her mind sharp; she can converse on any subject. Mimi lost her sight several years back, yet continues to prepare our tea, albeit a little more slowly. One month ago, the power went out for three days during a storm. Mimi is the only one on the block who has a gas fireplace, so she was able to still fire up that old teapot for several neighbors. We all huddled together, our hands warmed by mugs of tea. Come rain or shine, we enjoyed our Tetley Moment together.
Betty, Florida
In this crazy, hectic world we live in it is difficult to just sit and relax sometimes. I have a wonderful 15 year old daughter who I love to spend time with. We have made a tradition of sitting down together once a week after school for "Tea". I reach for my best china tea set and may even bake up some scones. We both look forward to a special time to chat about anything and everything with our favorite, Tetley British Blend tea. We not only enjoy these moments now, but will enjoy lasting memories for the rest of our lives.
Laura, North Carolina
Southern girls always like a little something sweet! Being from a small southern town in North Carolina, I idealize the times that my husband and I can sit on our front porch and sip our cool glass of Tetley tea with a fresh slice of lemon in it. Inevitably, the spell is broken when all three of our children come running, out of breath, and begging for a glass of tea. My husband and I look at each other, shrug our shoulders, and reluctantly give them our final sip. The best part is knowing that we still have a big pitcher full still in the refrigerator for later! We wouldn't trade our Tetley tea for anything in the world!
Cheryl, Ohio
When I was about 16, I had a horse that I boarded at a barn in the next city over. One day when I went there with a friend that also had a horse, we walked into the barn to find a mare had gone into labor and you could tell something was wrong. Nobody was home and we were the only people around. We called the vet, and he said he couldn't get there for half an hour, and we would have to handle the delivery ourselves. I won't go into the messy details, but basically we had to push the foal back in and make sure it came out the correct way. My friend did most of the work, while I pretty much sat on the mare's neck to keep her from standing, talking to her to try and calm her. Finally, the foal was born, and she was fine! The vet arrived, and told us that if we hadn't been there, the foal and possibly the mare would have died. We went home, and I shook all the way home. I guess I was a bit shocked by the whole thing! I told my Mom what had happened, and she jumped up and made me some Tetley tea. I sipped it and immediately started to relax. And now I always drink Tetley tea. Hot in the winter, and iced in the summer!
Suzanne, Maryland
My daughter is 22 and between her going to college, work and dating, and my working and taking classes, we rarely have time together. We both enjoy trying new flavors of tea, and it's nice when she's running past and I ask if she would like a new cup of tea and she says yes. We find a few moments to sit down and reconnect together. She is now at the age, where I find her asking me if I'd like a cup of tea. I have to wonder if it's the tea she is craving, or a few of those special "mom"ents that we share.

I have too many stories of my Tetley tea drinking to tell, from
tea folk to the happy cuppa but this little contribution sums it up
for me:
Tetley make it better
Tetley taste is grand
Everyday and everyway
I've got British Blend at hand
I drink two cups each morning
Plus afternoon at four
And when I get home early,
I drink a couple more.
The point you see is easy
Not much to contemplate
It's because I drink my Tetley
That makes my health first rate!

A few months ago, I needed to find my husband a new breakfast tea. I found Tetley British Blend. We both liked it, so then we tried the regular tea. I was immediately transported back to your old Tetley commercial. The one where a 60's something gentleman talks about wasting his life because he could have been drinking Tetley all along. It is a much superior taste compared to Lipton that my mother insisted was the best. She had no idea!
Nicole, Connecticut
My grandfather used to have a cup of Tetley tea every single time I went over there. It is one of the very few things I even remember about him, since I was too young to understand or care at the time. But I always remember the dark rings on the napkin under his spoon. I like to drink mugs of Tetley tea and remember him :)
Gail, New Jersey
One of my fondest childhood memories was watching "The Movie of the Week" back in the 60's with my mother. Before it would come on, I would ask her if she wanted a cup of tea, and then make a cup for both of us. We always had Tetley. As the youngest of seven children, I would always try to whisper it to her when my older silbings were around. No matter how quietly I asked, in unison they all wanted tea. I would end up making at least six or seven cups of tea and carrying them in one at a time. Once I brought the last cup of tea in, I would finally sit down to drink my own. Slowly each of the older siblings moved out and away. I missed making them all tea. When my own children were born, my Mom would occassionally come and stay for a few days. Once all my small children were snuggled in their beds, I would once again ask her if she wanted tea. It was different place and time, but it was a great comfort to once again sit with my Mom, and now my husband and watch television with a cup of Tetley tea. My Mom is passed, but I find it very soothing to think of those times together, relaxing, and enjoying a quiet evening at two very different times in our lives together.
Lisa, New York
Coming from a Canadian family with British roots, we always had tea - late afternoon, after dinner, in the evening. My father loves Tetley and has been buying it for years and year. When I moved to the US I never could seem to find tea that I liked as much so I always brought some home with me after visiting my family in Canada. A couple of years ago I discovered Tetley British Blend at our grocery store. As my husband says, it has changed our lives! He drinks ice tea all day long, while I enjoy hot tea every morning. Even my four year old son loves to have warm tea in his special Easter bunny mug with Mommy. Having tea with my son reminds me of my home and family. Thank you!
Brent, South Carolina
As a college student, I can tell you that we don't have a lot of money for soft drinks. My roommates and I have found that tea is much more economical and relaxing than sodas. In the evenings, we drink a variety of Tetley teas. We have a combination den/kitchen where we sit in the evenings. We keep several different cannisters of Tetley on the counter top. Some like the tea hot and some like it cold but we drink our tea so fast that it never gets old.
Richard, Pennsylvania
I woke up one crisp winter morning to find the Green landscape I once knew was covered in a heavy layer of pure white snow. I knew I had to eventually go outside and remove what I was sure to be hundreds if not thousands of pounds of snow from my walkway and once I found my car,to uncover it as well. The only solace was the steaming hot mug of Tetley "English Breakfast" tea warming my hands ,preparing them for the icy task ahead. I will reward them with another fine ,hot mug of Tetley's "British Blend" on my return.Thank you Tetley!
Pat, Oklahoma
I've always been a tea drinker, but did not care for flavored teas. All that changed when our Prayer Group had lunch together to celebrate a birthday. I had been diagnosed in 2005 with breast cancer and went through surgery and radiation. The birthday lunch happened to be the same week I had received my one year clean bill of health. The tea of the day was Tetley Orange Spice. I will always associate that tea with the good news. I have been given a two-year clean bill of health and you guessed it - - Tetley Orange Spice Tea was the drink of the day.
Cindy, Missouri
Every evening my daughter and I always enjoyed a good cup of Tetley iced tea together. We would pour a big glass of tea and often sit on the deck and just talk about our day. It was a wonderful way to spend quality time with Liza. Last August, Liza went away to college. I miss her so much and I know she misses me too. Once a week I send her a card to let her know that I'm thinking of her. Inside the envelope I always include a Tetley Tea bag. We can still enjoy our mother daughter bonding time, even if we can't be together.
Angela, South Carolina
My favorite moment of the day is the evenings after supper. My husband and I like to sit on our porch in our big rocking chairs. We take our glasses of Tetley tea to sip on while we rock. Our collie sits between us; the neighbors walk by and holler, "hey" to us. We have plenty of rocking chairs so sometimes the neighbors stop to rock and sip a little Tetley tea. We always have plenty of iced tea. Things are just a little more laid back down here in South Carolina. Come on down and rock with us and share a little Tetley.

I am a mother of two boys, a middle schooler and a freshman in high school. I get up to see them off to school so my day starts very early. I clean the house before I go to work so I'm pretty energized by the time I step outside. I have a job that requires alot of brain power. I then commute back home which is at least an hour and then start helping the boys with homework and carpooling. Afterwards, I start dinner and attend any meetings set for that day. My Tetley Moment arrives around 10pm when I finally sit down and enjoy my only cup of the day. I look forward to that moment in my evening. It helps me to relax and I can feel all my energy leave my body. I have been buying Tetley decaffeinated tea for over 10 years, in bulk from the corporate offices. I mix mine with a tsp of sugar and a dash of cream. There's nothing like it.
Laura, California
At university, every evening after classes I would go upstairs to see my housemate Clare and gossip about the day, or boys, or complain about essays or tutors. Clare always had the kettle boiling, and two mugs waiting with their Tetley tea bags. One by one our other housemates (all girls) would come join us. If someone had something special going on, like a new date, we would all take our mugs and go traipsing off into their room to help pick out a wardrobe or give make-up tips. Our evening ritual allowed us to relax and enjoy some quality girl time before we went back to our rooms, to work on our essays, or out on a date. Now, when I sit back with a mug of Tetley Tea, I am always reminded of that time, and of my great friends and housemates I shared it with.

When my son told me he was going to Iraq, it was the Tetley I reach for to calm my fearful heart. It is what I reach for every time I start to feel any anxiety about him being so close to danger. So my Tetley Moment is everyday. During the summer there is nothing more refreshing than a cool glass of Tetley iced tea made with the Orange Peach Tea. And in the winter there is nothing more warming and comforting than a hot cup of Tetley Tea. So when it's too hot, or too cold, or the real world is too scary Tetley is the perfect drink. Always, my favorite flavor to relax with or refresh with is the Orange Peach Tea. And for relief from a stuffy nose, sore throat or upset stomach the Peppermint tea is best. I only wish it was sold in Minnesota. But until it is I will keep buying online. Tetley is, hands down, the BEST. The high priced "name brands" (you know who they are) can't even come close to comparing to the aroma, richness of color, and flavor of Tetley.

The Christmas after I last worked at a job I had for 7 years I received a Christmas card from one of my old customers who included a tea bag and the line went something like "At 3 o'clock sit and have a cup of tea, I'll be thinking of you as you'll be thinking of me." I thought it was one of the sweetest gestures.

It was the last week in November and I was staring at my advent calendar with several empty pockets left. I filled them each year and the children took turns getting the daily treat. I had one day each to fill and I was empty of ideas. My eyes strayed to the box of Tetley tea on the table. I remembered the busy days of Christmas shopping and preparation in the past and how nice it was to come home and rest with a steaming cup in a pretty mug. I decided then to incorporate it into an advent day. On three slips of paper, I wrote: "Today, you and I are going to spend a half hour alone and have tea and cookies and just be together". I carefully slipped them into three slots scattered among the busy days of December counting carefully so each child would receive one slip. I was apprehensive about how it would be received. After all they usually got an immediate prize. The first slip was drawn out by my middle daughter. She was surprised, but her eyes had a sparkle and she said she couldn't wait until after school! When they arrived home that afternoon, two of my children entertained themselves and my middle daughter and I slipped away to a tea table decorated for the holidays with a cozy teapot filled to the brim with comfortably hot Tetley tea, child size holiday cups and candy cane cookies. My daughter took hers with half milk and sugar and we chatted together for a half hour about her life.
Three visits during that busy time were enjoyed that chilly winter and fell into the background of life a few months later. But not by the children who are now thirty something. They clamored for that time together the following year and each thereafter. It became a tradition
that they still talk about today.

My mother was a single parent, and put herself through nursing school. She often had to work long days and nights at the hospital.
Whenever I was sick she would always take the time to make me Tetley Tea with honey for my throat. I remember "playing sick" just so I could have the special Tetley tea and honey. No matter how sick-it always seemed to make me feel better. I loved it so much, that I now do this with my two children and my husband! They love it and I know it will be passed on from generation to generation! Thanks so much for the great memories and tradition!

One hot summer day my grandchildren were out side playing baseball. They looked very hot and sweaty, so I decided I should get them something to drink. I walked out to their field and asked them what they wanted which was crazy of me because I already knew the answer was, "TEA!!!". I went back in my house and pulled out my pitcher of Tetly tea. I poured five glasses and took it back outside to them. We sat on the swing and talked, laughed, and drank our Tetly tea. We told stories about school and things and had a great time. My two grandsons didn't even fight. We had a great time and I will never forget it!

What I honestly treasure most about Tetley tea bags is their unique flavor as opposed to an ordinary tea bag. I love how ambitious they become when seeped in hot water. I love the warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach that besets me when stirring the bag aimlessly around my china tea cup. I love how the tea communicates with my taste buds. So often people describe their tea bags as if they are all the same, but Tetley Tea bags are unique in a magnificent way.

What better way to relax on these hot summer afternoons than to watch Dr. Zhivago while lying under the ceiling fan with the swamp cooler on and a great big pitcher of Tetley iced tea on hand. This does it for me when the temperature soars to heights never before seen here in the foothills. Thanks Tetley, for your wonderful flavor and refreshment.

Since my son was a young boy, we continued the Family Tradition of "Tea and Talk" started by my sister and her daughter. We sit down with hot Tetley Decaf Tea and talk about his day. This helps us share thoughts, share our days, and keep on top of situations. He never hesitates even today to have cups of tea with MOM.

When I was a little girl, I adored spending special tea time with my grandmother. With a healthy dose of mischief and giggles, she created moments and memories I'll always cherish. She'd dance and sing and find endless ways to make me laugh. When we spent time together, each day at lunchtime she'd set out the TV tables in the formal living room in front of the fancy sofa reserved for guests and special occasions. But I was very special, she'd tell me, and our tea time deserved the best. Grandma would go to great lengths to prepare an elegant midday meal for the two of us, complete with linen napkins, bud vases of cut daylilies from her garden and individual pots of Tetley tea. Then, with great exuberance she would invite me to dine with her and watch her "stories" on television. While she checked the steeping tea in the pot, she'd share recollections of special tea times with her own grandmother on the farm in the country.
Though my feet barely touched the floor, as I sipped my tea from elegant bone china, I felt privileged, grown up and loved. My grandma is gone ten years now, but I reenacted this ritual when my boys were little and were delighted to share special treats and a loving cup of Tetley tea. Years from now, as I take out the beautiful china cups once more, tea time will be a ritual I'll continue when precious little ones smile and call me grandma.

I recently flew across the country from Oregon to attend college at The Ohio State University. To my surprise, I discovered I had relatives living in Michigan, which was a fairly short drive away. I had several communications with them through email and I happened to mention how I love tea, at this time I had never had any Tetley teas. When I first met them, I walked into their door to find a big pot of Tetley iced tea brewing! I love iced tea so much, and it had to of been by far the most delicious iced tea I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. I still visit my relatives in Michigan a couple times a year while I am attending college, and I always look forward to the pot of Tetley tea that they brew so I can enjoy it along with their company. The only problem is, I am quite picky about the tea I drink now--especially that iced tea from tap, the stuff you often get in restaurants. Hopefully, one day, everybody will be introduced to Tetley... that way, when I order iced tea, I know I am getting the good stuff.
Marta, Texas
I have been making and enjoying Tetley tea at home for many years but this particular day will live in my mind always as if it were today. I had just come home from the hospital having been diagnosed with renal cancer and my sister who lives out of town had come to help me recoup after my surgery. Unfortunately, Hurricane Rita was also in the gulf at this time and headed for us. We were apprehensive as we did not know what the next few days would bring. We decided to make some tea and discuss our strategy for survival. As the tea brewed and the aroma filled the kitchen air it was such a relaxing smell and the taste as always ... perfection. It really soothes the mind and body and turned a stressful situation into a pleasant memory. As you can see, we survived Rita and now every week my sister and I talk on the phone with tea in hand for our scheduled "Tetley Time". What a treat... Thanks for the memories Tetley.

Last week I was in a small town working outside in the hot sun. Around noon, I started having cravings for some sweet iced tea. When I got off work, I stopped by the local grocery store to get some Tetley tea bags, a bag of sugar, and the other items I need to make my tea 'on the road'. The grocery store didn't sell any Pyrex, so I put the tea bags and sugar back up, and ended up going to the next town over to get my tea making supplies.
After driving an hour and a half, I arrived at the next town and found their Mega-mart. I bought the Pyrex measuring cup, a funnel, a couple gallons of water, a bag of sugar, but no tea bags. The Mega-mart didn't sale Tetley brand, so I stopped back to the other grocery store to buy my Tetley Tea on the way to the hotel. When I arrived back at my hotel, I made my tea as usual....poured near boiling water over the tea bags, cover and let steep for fifteen minutes, poured the hot tea over the sugar in the jug to get it to dissolve, add water to the tea bags, and repeat. After the tea was made, I drank a glass and let out a nice big AHHHHhhhhhh!!! That was the best tea I've had in the two weeks since I left my house.
