Minty Lemon Balm Sun-Iced Tea
1 c. water, plus more as needed to brew tea
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. fresh mint leaves
1/2 c. fresh lemon balm leaves
5-6 Tetley Iced Tea Blend tea bags, depending on desired strength of the tea
To make the simple syrup combine one cup of water, one cup of sugar, mint and lemon balm in a sauce pot and bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer stirring often until sugar is completely dissolved and the herbs infuse into the syrup. Remove from heat and set aside.
In the meantime add enough water to a tea jar along with the tea bags and set out in the sun early in the morning on a hot summer day. Keep in sun for as long as possible until the tea is infused into the water. Add simple syrup to tea and cool tea in fridge until cold. Enjoy!!!
Add whole mint leaves and tea bags to boiling water simultaneously.
Mix 1 2-liter bottle of cola with a pitcher of Iced Tea, removing mint leaves.
Add ice and sweeten to taste.
Orange Tea Soda
1 Tetley Iced Tea Blend Family Size tea bag
2 cups Water
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Fresh Orange Juice (from 4 Navel Oranges)
1 cup Sparkling water
1. Bring water to boil and add tea bag and granulated sugar. Stir and let stand for 3‐4 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
2. In a pitcher, combine the tea, carbonated soft drinkk and orange juice. Stir well.
3. Pour the orange tea soda into each ice‐filled serving glass.
Peppermint Sweet Tea
Yield one gallon 2 cups sugar
6 peppermint candies(like starlight)
½ gallon boiling water
8 Tetley Iced Tea Blend tea bags
½ gallon ice water
Stir sugar, peppermint candies into boiling water until dissolved,
Add tea bags and steep for 15 minutes
Add ice water and stir let cool and enjoy
Sunny Basil Sweet Tea
4 Tetley Iced Tea Blend Bags
1 Gallon warm water
1 C Fresh basil leaves
½ C sugar
Mix ingredients in a sun tea pitcher and set outside for 2 hours
Mix well and serve over ice
This recipe has just a hint of sweet and is excellent to enjoy with friends while sitting on the porch enjoying fresh fruit or cherry tomatoes. The basil gives a warm summery version of mint taste.
Tropical Citrus Iced Tea
5 family sized Tetley Iced Tea Blend tea bags
2 cups sugar or sugar substitute
1 small can frozen lemonade
1 small can frozen orange juice
1 large can pineapple juice
Bring tea bags to boil in small saucepan of water. Simmer to steep tea for 5 minutes.
Add sugar or sugar substitute to gallon sized pitcher and pour hot tea over to dissolve. Add frozen juice concentrates from can and pineapple juice to pitcher. Fill pitcher to full with water and stir all ingredients until mixed. Pour over ice and enjoy!
