Fruit (Iced)
Hang the following fruits on the edge of a glass: lemons cut into sections, oranges and limes sliced crosswise into rounds, and apples and pears cut into wedges. Strawberries, raspberries and other seasonal fruits can be floated to the bottom of a pitcher. (Note: Cut fruit at the last minute to avoid discoloration and-don't forget!-remove all seeds.)
Mint (Hot or Iced)
Place fresh sprigs of mint (experiment with any number of varieties) along the rims of glasses or freeze perfectly shaped mint leaves into the centers of individual ice cubes.
Spices/Flavorings (Hot)
Cinnamon, cloves, a dash of ginger or a teaspoon of dark rum or fruit liqueur may be steeped or stirred into tea.
Edible Flowers (Iced)
Nasturtiums and pansies can be frozen in ice cubes or floated gently atop tea in a crystal pitcher.
Sweeteners
Sugars, sugar cubes, honey, flavored syrups or liqueurs can be used to sweeten tea. (Note: Artificial sweeteners will dissolve faster than sugar in chilled tea.)
Once removed from the box, tea bags are highly susceptible to odors and can become "stale." To prevent this, immediately place "exposed" tea bags in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry area. For your convenience, Tetley Specialty flavors come in reclosable canisters. These canisters keep your Specialty flavor tea bags fresh and flavorful and prevent them from being exposed to odors. |
