There are lots of ways to give yourself a boost. Here are a few easy ideas to help you refresh your spirit and soothe your soul wherever you are.

Breath deeply

Deep breathing is an excellent and effortless way to help you step out of a stressful situation. Inhale slowly for a count of seven. Hold it for a moment, then exhale for a count of seven. Do this deep breathing exercise three or four times. You'll find you're calmer and more relaxed in moments.

Count to 10 before you talk

We all feel angry sometimes. The trick is to not let our anger control what we say or do. Sometimes that can be as easy as taking a moment to pause before we say anything. Instead of reacting, take a deep breath and count to ten slowly before you respond. You'll feel calmer and more in control.

Daydream

We sometimes forget the power our imagination has to take us away from it all. Close your eyes and take a moment to daydream. Just let your mind wander for a few minutes and let your imagination go.

Try something new

Stuck in a rut? Break out of your routine by trying something new. Take a photography class, sign up for a nature walk, volunteer at the museum. Just do whatever interests you and expand your horizons.

Stretch at your desk

Been working at your desk for hours? Take a moment to stand up and stretch. Put your hands over your head, reach for the sky, take a deep breath and hold for a few moments. Stretching will help you relax your spirit and reduce tension in your body.
